According to the classical theory there are three hundred and sixty five acupuncture points along the meridians. The twelve main meridians, where the body’s energy (Qi) flows are linked to specific organs or particular body functions.

By inserting hair-thin, sterile, disposable needles the acupuncture points are stimulated, which restores the natural balance and smooth flow of energy (Qi) through the body. This sets the stage for the body to repair itself and maintain its own health.

Modern science proposes that the needles stimulate the nervous system to release biochemicals, such as endorphins, immune system cells, and neurotransmitters. In addition to relieving pain, these chemicals can influence the internal regulation of the body and effect involuntary bodily functions such as blood flow, immune reactions, body temperature and digestion.
